Cameron Diaz, 50, returned to the London set of her new action-comedy film, Back in Action, which she is starring in alongside Jamie Foxx, 55. Filming was temporarily halted after Foxx was hospitalized for an undisclosed “medical complication” last week. Paparazzi pictures published by Page Six show that, while filming for the Netflix film has resumed, production is currently using a stand-in for Foxx.
In one of the pictures posted to Page Six‘s Instagram on April 19th, the Charlie’s Angels alum can be seen wearing a casual black sweater and black sweatpants and smiling, while wearing some oversized pink glasses. And despite her super casual getup, fans couldn’t help but gush over the actress’s appearance, with one fan commenting, “She’s so pretty. Also hope Jamie is okay,” and another adding, “Ahhh I just love her still. Look at that smile,” followed by a smiley face emoji.

Everything We Know About Jamie Foxx’s Hospitalization
We don’t know much about the medical complication Jamie was hospitalized for, but Page Six reports that it didn’t happen on the set of the movie. On April 13th, Jamie’s daughter Corinne Foxx, 29, shared the following message on Instagram, and disabled the comments: “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
According to an April 21st report from Page Six, doctors are still monitoring the Django Unchained actor closely following his hospitalization. Also on the same day, another source told People that the actor was doing “Ok,” but was “still in the hospital.” The insider added: “Doctors are running tests, but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation.”

Cameron Diaz Looks Incredible On ‘Back In Action’ Set
We’re excited to see that Cameron is making her return to acting just four years after *officially* announcing her retirement, although the last film she starred in was the Annie remake way back in 2014! Back in February, the Avaline businesswoman was spotted filming scenes for the rather aptly named movie in London multiple times. She was last seen filming nighttime scenes in a speedboat on the River Thames on Sunday, February 26th. In the paparazzi pic, Cameron and Jamie both looked stylish, with the Ray star wearing a sleek black tuxedo and the In Her Shoes actress rocking a similarly stylish black blazer and trousers.

The new pics follow Jamie’s conversation with E! News in August where he revealed how he was able to convince Cameron to come out of her retirement and return to the screen. “We just begged and pleased on my knees, like, ‘Just give the people one more again,'” he explained to E! News’ Daily Pop. “We love her, we’ve been waiting on her and this is just gonna be fantastic.”
He exclusively told Entertainment Tonight that he was able to persuade Cameron to come out of retirement for Back in Action by promising that they would have a good time acting together. “So it was literally, ‘Do you wanna have some fun? Just have some fun!’ And I think that’s what brought her to it,” he told the outlet.

Jamie announced Cameron’s return for the Netflix movie back in June 2022 by sharing a phone call between himself, Cameron, and Tom Brady on Twitter. “Cameron I hope you aren’t mad I recorded this, but no turning back now. Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT,” Jamie tweeted on June 29. “@CameronDiaz and I are BACK IN ACTION—our new movie with @NetflixFilm. Production [starts] later this year!!”
During the call, the NFL quarterback jokingly offered the actress some advice, as someone who he said is “relatively successful at un-retiring.” Cameron chimed back with “Honestly, [you’re] exactly what I need.”

A source close to Cameron told People that the What Happens in Vegas actress has been enjoying her time on the set of Back in Action in London. “Cameron has been filming in London for several weeks,” the source said. “She was nervous before she arrived in London, but then very excited.”
“Filming has been amazing. Cameron really enjoys it. They have been doing a lot of nighttime filming,” the insider added. “It hasn’t bothered her, because she is jet-lagged anyway. Her family is with her for support.”
And, another source told People that the Bad Teacher actress and Jamie “have great chemistry” on set. “Everyone loves working with them,” the source says. “They are both incredibly [hard-working] and never complain. Cameron is a sweetheart on the set. She is super chill and down to earth. She keeps telling the crew that she is just so excited to film again.”

Cameron Diaz Steps Back From Acting In 2014
Cameron stepped back from acting after last appearing as Miss Hannigan in 2014’s Annie remake. A source close to the film told People the following month, “When this project came along and she was pursued by Jamie Foxx, who she has known and worked with for years, she decided to go for it.”
This isn’t the first time Jamie and Cameron have worked together. While the duo starred alongside each other in the 2014 remake of Annie, they also previously costarred in 1999’s Any Given Sunday.
