Carey Mulligan stunned fans in a strapless, curve-hugging black gown with a Barbie pink sash detail while gracing the red carpet last week (and no, we’re still not over it!) The Oscar nominee, 37, turned heads at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of her long-awaited film, She Said, while donning an elegant dress from Armani Privé‘s fall 2022 collection.

Mulligan’s floor-length piece featured a sultry, plunging neckline and Old Hollywood-esque silhouette that she emphasized with a chin-length, wavy bob and timeless red lipstick. The Promising Young Woman actress parted her blonde tresses in the center, and drew eyes to her stunning features with black eyeliner, mascara and rosy blush. To amp up her ensemble even more, the Drive star accessorized with dangly diamond earrings.

She Said, which will hit US theaters on November 18th, is based on the book of the same name and centers around journalists Meghan Twohey and Jodi Kantor. The film was inspired by their groundbreaking New York Times investigation into Harvey Weinstein’s violent decades of abuse, harrassment and sexual misconduct.

Mulligan, who portrays Twohey, was recently applauded by the writer IRL, who commended the star’s performance in a recent Vanity Fair interview. Twohey praised Mulligan for the way that she showed the journalist’s relationship with postpartum depression on-screen. The Great Gatsby alum then opened up herself about her own postpartum experience, and how she could relate. After Mulligan welcomed her daughter Evelyn Grace in 2017, she explained that working on the film Suffragette helped with her healing journey.

“It was either cancel the whole thing or just get on and do it,” she said. “And that — and a combination of lots of other things, and help and support from everyone around me — was my light. So, Megan and I talked about that, and we both shared what we had both been through, like so many women have been through.” Mulligan and her husband, musician Marcus Mumford, also welcomed a son, Wilfred, in 2017.
