Carnie Wilson took to Instagram earlier this year to proudly display her 40-lb weight loss by posting a side-by-side comparison of herself before and after. The Wilson Phillips singer, 56, attributed her success to a diet devoid of sugar and gluten, which she had cut out entirely. In doing so, the television personality said she was able to achieve her health goals, and shared more about her experience with fans.

On April 7th, Wilson shared the post for her 197K followers, and captioned it: “Another before and ‘during’… my health journey! This is 40 pounds down. I feel really different. I need to start exercising more to make the scale start to move again, but I’m so proud and pumped.”

The mom-of-two continued, writing beneath two photos of herself (one in which she donned an orange top pre-weight loss and another of herself rocking a leather LBD and looking slimmer): “Knowing that I did this PURELY through diet – no gluten or sugar, no butter and keeping fats down too.”

Carnie Wilson Gets Candid About Her Weight Loss Journey And Shares Photos Of Her Transformation On Instagram

Wilson went on: “Lately I have indulged in cheese and nuts which have more fat. If I chose not to eat corn tortillas, nuts and cheese – there’s no way I could keep this up.” The Grammy nominee added: “I have totally adjusted my eating habits to satisfy my cravings but in a realistic way. And it’s a miracle. Hope this inspires someone.”

Fans headed to Wilson’s comments section to praise her success and commend her for being “open” about her diet and transformation.

“Wow, amazing, I’m so proud of you. Your dedication is outstanding, you’re an inspiration,” one fan wrote, as another commented: “You’re beautiful either way! Happy for your success!”  “You look incredible, and more importantly, happy. So proud of you and your hard work. Get it girl!” exclaimed a third fan.

Carnie Wilson Confirms She Did Not Use Ozempic For 40-Lb Weight Loss

In an interview with Page Six earlier this year, Wilson confirmed that she did not and will not go down the Ozempic and weight loss injections route, as the risks are just too great for her. She said: "Possibly back in the day, yeah. Not now though. It's not for me, definitely not. I know it works for some people. I was too afraid of the side effects. For me, I just – I didn't want to take a chance."

"And it's funny because people are shocked," Wilson continued, before going on to say that people don't believe that she didn't use weight loss drugs to achieve her new slimmer frame. "It's like they don't believe me. They're like, 'Oh, can anyone say Ozempic?' And I'm like, 'I didn't do that.'"

Carnie Wilson Said Her Doctor 'Warned' Her About Using Ozempic For Weight Loss, And She Was Ultimately 'Too Scared' To Try It

Wilson also addressed the Ozempic allegations in an interview with Fox News Digital published earlier this year. "I personally was too scared for any side effects, gastrointestinal side effects," Wilson said regarding drugs like these.

She continued: "My doctor warned me. He said, 'This is an option if you want to do it, but I am warning you that it has not been around enough for the way many people are using this, and that is for weight loss.'"

The musician (who also lost 100 lbs. via gastric bypass surgery in 1999) dished to the publication that her doctor had informed her of other patients experiencing serious side effects from using Ozempic, ultimately deterring her from trying it.

Carnie Wilson Discussed Her 'Strict' Diet Plan: 'It's Working And I Just Feel Better'

Earlier this year, Wilson also sat down with Entertainment Tonight co-host Nischelle Turner to discuss her healthy and "strict" diet plan even further. "It was like a voice that said, 'You're done. You're done eating the food that makes you feel like crap,' you know, and I've never eaten this way in my whole life, but I'm kind of looking at it like my sobriety, which is like just one day at a time," Wilson shared.

She continued: "Just for today, I'm not gonna eat this dessert or even a taste of it. I mean, I'm really being strict." Wilson pointed out that "something switched" for her recently, and said that "the weight is just shedding off naturally" after she made changes to her daily menu.

"The way I eat is like corn tortillas, not flour. I eat brown rice, I eat some rice, I eat plenty of tortilla chips and guac," Wilson revealed. She also told Turner: "I'm going to eat what I want, but I just don't eat sugar or gluten and it's working and I just feel better."
