Carrie Underwood already has a super-impressive 16 Academy of Country Music awards in her trophy cabinet, but her fans think she is worthy of many, many more – including the award for the 2023 ‘Female Artist of the Year.’ Carrie has been nominated for ‘Female Artist of the Year’ for 15 years in a row since 2006 – winning five times – and this year now marks the third consecutive year she hasn’t been nominated. With the “If I Didn’t Love You” singer going home empty handed after the CMT Awards earlier this month, her fans seem to be angrier than ever!
When the nominations for the 58th Annual ACM Awards – which will be hosted by Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks in May – were revealed on Thursday, April 13th, the 40-year-old “Ghost Story” singer’s name was nowhere to be seen in the ‘Female Artist of the Year’ list, which was a “shocking,” to quote Cosmopolitan, snub which did *not* go down well with her fans! Although she has been nominated in the ‘Entertainer of the Year’ category (and quite deservingly too!) her fans couldn’t move past the fact that she was snubbed for the ‘Female Artist’ category, and weren’t shy of expressing their opinions!

Social Media Reactions To ACM Awards Snub
‘Female Artist of the Year’ was one of the first categories to be announced, with Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson, Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde all receiving nominations. But regardless of how talented country music lovers thought the aforementioned artists were, they deemed the fact that the “Hate My Heart” singer was missing a true snub!
“Why is Kelsea nominated for female vocalist but Carrie isn’t?! That’s strange. Carrie deserves to win entertainer of the year! Her tour was amazing and she has had a great year!” exclaimed one shocked fan. “No Carrie for female? What on earth?” questioned another confused fan, which another directly replied to, saying, “Right?! Confusing.” “No Carrie for female. You people have lost your minds,” said another.
"No @carrieunderwood for female artist of the year? Are you kidding?!" asked another fan in disbelief. "I agree! She out performs them all!" replied another. "@carrieunderwood deserves entertainer of the year and why is she not nominated for female artist of the year?!" asked another fan.
"So Carrie gets nominated for EOTY but not artist? Make it make sense," added another. "The fact Carrie has only 1 nomination is absolutely crazy," said another fan, followed by two mind blown emojis. "Entertainer of the Year should be Carrie Underwood! And Female Artist! Class Act!" added another. "Carrie for EOTY," stated another fan, followed by the fire emoji, adding, "but bummed she’s not nominated for Female Artist." It seems like many, many other fans agreed!

The disappointment continued over on Twitter, with the majority of the comments section on an April 13th post from the official ACM Awards account announcing the 'Female Artist of the Year' nominations revolving around the mom-of-two's absence. "No Carrie Underwood?!" wondered one fan, while another asked, "Where's Carrie?" "It's kind of shocking Carrie Underwood isn’t in this category. Every male artist nominated for entertainer (except Aldean) is then renominated in the male artist category…" noted another. "Carrie Underwood nominated for EOTY but not Female?" questioned another shocked fan. "How does Carrie get missed for this?" asked another.
"Another Year without @carrieunderwood! This is ridiculous!" exclaimed one angry fan. "Where is Carrie Underwood? You lot don't deserve Carrie Underwood now. Anyway, Carrie Underwood has enough book ends to last her a lifetime now she's too big for the ACM awards," said another. "Where is literally the best selling female artist of the year, @ACMawards?" asked another fan, alongside a GIF of Carrie performing. "Lol, there is no Carrie. We are not going to [be] watching," commented another fan.
Carrie Underwood's 'Entertainer Of The Year' Nomination
The "Before He Cheats" singer's fans will be hoping that she walks away with the 'Entertainer of the Year' prize, which anyone who attended any of her Denim & Rhinestones concerts will be confident that she deserves! This is Carrie's sixth EOTY nomination, and has already won the award three times! This year, the competition seems stiffer than ever, as she is up against Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Kane Brown, Jason Aldean, Luke Combs, and Morgan Wallen. Do we think she will win? We have to wait until May 11th to find out!
