Carrie Underwood Fans Are Losing It Over Her ‘Shocking’ ACM Awards Nomination Snub: ‘Are You Kidding?!’
April 20, 2023 by Maria Pierides
Carrie Underwood already has a super-impressive 16 Academy of Country Music awards in her trophy cabinet, but her fans think she is worthy of many, many more – including the award for the 2023 ‘Female Artist of the Year.’ Carrie has been nominated for ‘Female Artist of the Year’ for 15 years in a row since 2006 – winning five times – and this year now marks the third consecutive year she hasn’t been nominated. With the “If I Didn’t Love You” singer going home empty handed after the CMT Awards earlier this month, her fans seem to be angrier than ever!
When the nominations for the 58th Annual ACM Awards – which will be hosted by Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks in May – were revealed on Thursday, April 13th, the 40-year-old “Ghost Story” singer’s name was nowhere to be seen in the ‘Female Artist of the Year’ list, which was a “shocking,” to quote Cosmopolitan, snub which did *not* go down well with her fans! Although she has been nominated in the ‘Entertainer of the Year’ category (and quite deservingly too!) her fans couldn’t move past the fact that she was snubbed for the ‘Female Artist’ category, and weren’t shy of expressing their opinions!
‘Female Artist of the Year’ was one of the first categories to be announced, with Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson, Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde all receiving nominations. But regardless of how talented country music lovers thought the aforementioned artists were, they deemed the fact that the “Hate My Heart” singer was missing a true snub!
“Why is Kelsea nominated for female vocalist but Carrie isn’t?! That’s strange. Carrie deserves to win entertainer of the year! Her tour was amazing and she has had a great year!” exclaimed one shocked fan. “No Carrie for female? What on earth?” questioned another confused fan, which another directly replied to, saying, “Right?! Confusing.” “No Carrie for female. You people have lost your minds,” said another.
