There were so many bold looks at the 2021 American Music Awards this week, but we can’t get Carrie Underwood’s edgy black high-slit, plunging neckline one out of our minds. She even completed it with combat boots! The country goddess took to the stage to perform a duet of “If I Didn’t Love You” with Jason Aldean at the annual awards show, and while the track brought down the house–so did Carrie’s show-stopping look.
Styled by celebrity pro Emma Trask, the black velvet gown from an unknown designer came complete with a deep V plunging neckline, crystal-studded bodice with dramatic sleeves, and a high-low tufted skirt with front slit that earned Carrie some major style points in our book. See for yourself:

Fans could nearly handle when Carrie flashed some major leg during the pre-taped performance. We, too, almost gasped when the high-slit skirt kicked open to reveal her super-toned legs and a pair of edgy combat boots underneath. We love this gothic-chic look for Carrie!
In an Instagram post by her hair and makeup stylist Melissa Schleicher, the full glam for Carrie’s look was revealed: nails by Jennifer Tsourvakas Nielsen and hair color by Marissa Martin. Nice work, team!

And the flawless glam and styling, as well as the emotional performance, weren’t the only fathers in Carrie’s cap from the evening. She also picked up trophies for Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Inspirational Artist at the show, her 16th and 17th AMA’s awards. Wow!
