Carrie Underwood just announced some major touring news, and fans are calling it an absolutely “brilliant move” by the country singer!
After convincing Axl Rose to join her on stage at the Stagecoach Music Festival last year and again at her headlining concert in Los Angeles earlier this year, Carrie is paying the frontman back by opening for Guns N’ Roses when the band plays Nashville on its summer 2023 tour.
SO ready for this! I’m joining @gunsnroses for select dates on their North American Tour in August and I CANNOT WAIT!!

Carrie Is A Longtime Fan Of Guns N’ Roses
It might seem strange for a country songstress, but Carrie‘s actually been a huge fan of Guns N’ Roses ever since she was young, even telling Rolling Stone in 2022 that she learned to sing in part by attempting to mimic Axl Rose’s distinctive voice. “I would pick really hard vocalists to try to emulate, and his voice always mesmerized me. I was like, ‘How is he doing the things that he’s doing?'”
The American Idol alum is also no stranger to singing the band's songs in front of a live audience. "I've been covering Guns N' Roses my whole life, pretty much and definitely onstage for the past 15 years at least."

Fans Rave: 'Bravo To Whoever Dreamed This Up'
The news of Carrie's guest appearances with Guns N' Roses this summer—she's also opening for the band for both of their Canada shows—has sent shockwaves through her fanbase on social media, who are calling the move "two headliners for the price of one":
Carrie Underwood opening for Guns N’ Roses is a brilliant move. You get TWO headliners for the price of one. Plus, she’s a huge fan and will absolutely blow people away.

Congrats, Carrie!!! I know this is a dream for you. Hopefully I’ll get to go to the Nashville show.

One Twitter user put it succinctly: "It’s a brilliant move… the same old same old openers gets boring. And Carrie is definitely not boring. She brings it every night."
The "Before He Cheats" singer will be "bringing it" to Guns N' Roses' shows in Moncton, NB on August 5th; Montreal, QC on August 8th; and Nashville, TN on August 26th. Other openers for the band include Pretenders, Dirty Honey, and Alice in Chains.
