Donald Trump’s inauguration is less than a week away, and he’s just announced who will be performing at the event: Carrie Underwood. The country singer, who has long since kept her political views private, has made them very public with one swift announcement, and many fans are heartbroken, claiming they’ll be “boycotting” the singer going forward. Carrie Underwood Announced As Trump's Inauguration Performer

Donald Trump's inauguration is on January 20th, falling on the same day as Martin Luther King JR. Day. Carrie Underwood, to the shock of many, will be the headlining performer for the event.

"I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," Underwood said in a statement. "I am humbled to answer the call at at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."

Also performing at the event are country singer Kid Rock, Village People, best known for their hit song "Y.M.C.A," Billy Ray Cyrus, Greenwood, and Liberty University's Praise Choir.

Social Media Vows To 'Boycott' Carrie Underwood

Many of Carrie Underwood's fans were very disappointed to hear that Carrie Underwood is not only performing at Trump's inauguration, but is a proud supporter of the felon, and made their opinions clear on social media. "Shame on you, Carrie," one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

"The beginning of the downfall of Carrie Underwood," another wrote on TikTok.

"I am VERY shocked," another person wrote on TikTok. "She literally has a song called 'Love Wins'?"

"I found out earlier and I was DEVASTATED," agreed a fourth fan. "That woman practically raised me with her music!"
