Carrie Underwood‘s fans are beside themselves with excitement, as it’s just been revealed that she will return to the NBC Sunday Night Football show opening for the 11th consecutive season!
The first show will kick off on September 10th on NBC and Peacock, and will reportedly feature a brand-new show open that will include an updated rendition of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” as well as concert footage of the “Hate My Heart” singer. And that’s not all, as SNF has teased that this year’s show open will include a “surprise new element” that has yet to be revealed. What could it be, we wonder?!
Carrie Underwood Returns To Sunday Night Football
The 40-year-old eight-time Grammy winner was understandably thrilled to return to SNF for the 11th consecutive year! She made the announcement on her official Instagram account on August 1st, as well as on the official SNF account, alongside a picture of herself dressed in a fierce one-sleeved sparkly bodysuit with mesh cutouts. The asymmetric outfit also showed off Carrie's super-sculpted arms and legs, proving that she is in the best shape of her life!
"Once again, the incredible Sunday Night Football team came up with a fresh, exciting visual concept that really gave us a chance to play," the "Ghost Story" singer said in a statement. "I loved shooting the show open again this year at our home away from home, The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, and can’t wait for another season of football!" she added.
And SNF seems to be just as excited too! "We’re thrilled to work with Carrie to capture a new vision for this season’s show open," said Tripp Dixon, creative director of the SNF show open for the past 11 years. "It sets the tone for the broadcast and pays tribute to the teams, star players and fans in a fun and dynamic way."
