The 2022 Golden Globe Awards ceremony that took place on Sunday, January 9th will probably go down in history for quite an interesting reason, as we think it will always be remembered as the ceremony that didn’t actually happen! FYI, due to a boycott of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (i.e., the Golden Globes’ parent organization) following an LA Times exposé from last year which essentially accused it of having a lack of diversity among its voting members (among other things!) the event didn’t go ahead in the traditional sense. It was a simple, private, untelevised event; and it had no host, no presenters, no long-winded acceptance speeches – you get the picture!
As the 79th Golden Globes didn’t have a fully-fledged ceremony, it therefore didn’t have a star-studded red carpet, which means we have missed out on some potentially jaw-dropping red carpet appearances from some of our favorite actresses who would have been due to attend. And with nominees such as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain, and Kristen Stewart, and winners such as Nicole Kidman, Rachel Zegler, and Ariana DeBose, we knew we would have been in for the biggest treat! However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t reflect on some of the Golden Globes red carpets of the past – and the picture of Catherine Zeta Jones from the 2018 Golden Globes is *still* living rent free in our minds!

We were so grateful when the 52-year-old Oscar-winning-actress refreshed the world’s memories of her 2018 Golden Globes red carpet appearance on Sunday, January 9th, when she took to Instagram to share a throwback picture of herself in her seductive see-through black Zuhair Murad Fall 2017 Couture gown with a very daring plunging front. It was one of the biggest style risks we had ever seen the Chicago star take, and we were – and still are – obsessed with it! Catherine captioned the throwback snap: “One of my all time, favorite looks. Good luck to all the nominees tonight! #GoldenGlobes2022.” It has since garnered over 46,000 likes, and thousands of approving comments from adoring fans.
“Stunning as always,” wrote one fan, followed by a red heart emoji. “The dress, the earrings,” wrote another, followed by three fire emojis. “just epic!” they added. “Loved that dress !! You looked fabulous … as always,” wrote another fan, followed by a red heart emoji (it goes without saying but that emoji, as well as the fire and heart eyes emojis were very prominent in the comments section) while another gushed that the actress was “Beautiful & Classy.” No arguments there – four years later and we are still just as blown away by Catherine’s look!
