Catherine Zeta-Jones turned the streets of Portofino into her very own catwalk, as she wowed the crowd in an attention-grabbing vintage Emanuel Ungaro ensemble when walking alongside her husband Michael Douglas, 78, during their enviable Italian vacation last month. (Check out the stunning pics here!)
The 53-year-old Welsh beauty looked phenomenal in Portofino, wearing a purple halter-neck maxi dress from the Emanuel Ungaro Spring 2005 collection. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – we’re obsessed with how Hollywood’s elite are turning to the high fashion archives for their red carpet and vacation wardrobes, and the Wednesday star’s look is one of our favorites of the year so far!
Catherine Zeta-Jones Dons Vintage Emanuel Ungaro Ensemble In Italy
The maxi dress featured a super-daring plunging front, a figure-flattering dropped-waist, a sheer skirt, and a combination of floral and animal prints, as well as sequin embellishments. It seemed to have absolutely everything thrown into it, but it worked! Giambattista Valli, who was at the Emanuel Ungaro helm when this dress was designed, was reportedly inspired by the Greek Isles when he created it, and we’re definitely getting Grecian goddess vibes from Catherine here.
The Mask of Zorro alum finished her look off with a Chanel leather pouch, black and nude wedges, and oversized sunglasses, while for jewelry, she went for some statement purple earrings. For his part, the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor wore some light-colored pants, a dark blue shirt, and black loafers.
Jessica Simpson Wore The Same Dress Back In 2005
Pop culture fans who think that Catherine's dress looks familiar are not wrong, as Jessica Simpson wore it way back in 2005 for VH1’s Big In '05 Awards. It was the Newlyweds alum's first red carpet appearance since her split from Nick Lachey was announced, making it a red carpet to remember! The now 43-year-old singer and clothing designer looked incredible in the dress, which many people referred to as her 'revenge dress' for good reason!
