Jessie J has had a tough year after being diagnosed with Meniere’s disease back in December. Taking to Instagram in early January, she revealed that she had gone to the hospital after falling deaf in her right ear, and in August the singer gave another update that the illness has impacted her singing. She wrote, “Yesterday I tried to sing a song I can usually sing with with ease, and I couldn’t. The issue I’m having isn’t my voice but is effecting my voice. And well… I sobbed.” However, the singer also shared that “95% of the time I am good. Positive and strong.”

Back in October, Celine Dion was forced to postpone her Las Vegas residency due to “severe and persistent muscle spasms” which have made it difficult for her to perform. Although the spasms are not life threatening, they have impeded Dion’s ability to do her job, though her sister Claudette has shared that Dion is taking it in stride. “What’s happening to her is sad,” Claudette told Voici magazine. “But it’s not serious, otherwise she would have told me. Celine always confides in me and asks for advice when something is wrong. I know she’s in good spirits.”

February was evidently the month of leg injuries as Brooke Shields revealed that she had broken her femur and was learning to walk again. “I was on one of those balance boards that I have been doing every day,” she revealed on Today with Hoda & Jenna earlier this year. “It was just something that I like to do. I’ve done it on Instagram and I stupidly switched my focus and I flew up in the air and just hit perfectly and snapped my femur.” Shields did share that she feared she would never walk again, but has since made a full recovery after appearing on the red carpet for the American Ballet Theatre’s Fall Gala, rocking heels for the first time since the accident.

In November, Pink took to Instagram to share details of the “brutal” hip surgery she underwent last month. The singer captioned the post, “It was a brutal first week full of tears and pain med depression, ulcers from meds and constant fevers, but my @hartluck brought me through.” Although the singer did not reveal why she had the operation, she did share that she would be on crutches for six weeks following the surgery. “In the meantime, shout out to all of those on the journey to wellness, and to those making magic out of the impossible,” the singer concluded. “Let the healing begin.”
