They may have all the money in the world, but even some of the richest and most successful celebrities aren’t immune to Photoshop fails. We guess it doesn’t matter how much money you have, because a good picture editing team is priceless!
Several (if not all) members of the Kardashian/Jenner family have once again been slammed for poorly Photoshopping their pictures this year; but they aren’t the only ones, as big Hollywood actresses like Sofía Vergara, Brie Larson and even the future king and queen of England have also been accused of the dreaded Photoshop fail.
Take a look at some of the biggest, most controversial, and most confusing Photoshop fail accusations from 2023 below…
1. Kim Kardashian
Let's start off with one of the originals, who has had more Photoshop fails than we can count over the years. Kim Kardashian shared a picture of herself posing by the Prenuvo body scanning machine back in August, with many of her fans questioning whether she had heavily Photoshopped it due to some inconsistencies in the wall and the lighting.
The popular IG account @celebface shared the picture and asked followers whether they thought the picture had been edited; and the responses were very interesting. Some commenters noted that the wall behind the mom-of-four looked "strange" and "weird" while someone else said everything looked "warped near her body." Others said that her face in particular looked the most "edited" and "not real."
2. Khloé Kardashian
Of course another member of the Kardashian klan was going to feature in this list. Khloé Kardashian has faced a lot of criticism for her overuse of Instagram filters and Photoshop over the years, and this year has been no different.
The Good American founder was accused of seriously Photoshopping her leg in a picture she shared of herself in a stunning sparkly mini dress for Malika and Khadijah Haqq's birthday party, as the foil background appeared to be warped. "Khloé darling, the background is looking a bit wonky," one fan wrote. "Looking fabulous, Khloé. Might want to fix that Photoshop error though," commented another, as someone else added: "Oh she's done it again with the editing fails."
3. Sofía Vergara
We were a little shocked when we saw Sofía Vergara post a picture of herself with a very obvious Photoshop fail earlier this year. The Griselda actress shared two mirror selfies while rocking a pair of jeans from her new Walmart collection, but many of her followers accused her of heavily editing the pictures because of the "off," "strange," and "weird" background.
Many A-listers have been caught out by a warped or inconsistent background, and that seems to have been the case with the Modern Family alum's pictures too, as the fireplace in the background appeared to be misshapen. "Why is the fireplace bending?" asked one fan. "Not the photoshopping in Walmart jeans," quipped another, as someone else said: "Photoshopped, bent fireplace. "It's bent towards her back/ waist in the first slide, then perfectly straight in the second slide," noted another.
4. Brie Larson
Brie Larson and some of her The Marvels co-stars seemed to have been very heavily Photoshopped in the new cardboard stands that appeared in movie theaters across the U.S. earlier this year. One fan took to Reddit and said, "For me it looks like they airbrushed Iman's mask off. Brie doesn't even look like Brie."
Another fan had an interesting theory, and wrote: "Definitely looks like they took masked promos and tried to unmask them. If you overlay where Iman's mask normally is, I bet she would look entirely normal again." Someone else replied: "I saw this at a theater last night and all I could think was why does Brie Larson's face look so weird on that?” One other chimed in: "I think it's her eyes. They have some kind of glow in them."
5. The Prince And Princess Of Wales
It may have only been released this month, but Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2023 Christmas card has already received an incredible amount of attention, as fans are still trying to work out whether it featured some Photoshop fails. When the picture was released on the Prince and Princess of Wales' joint Instagram account, eagle-eyed fans thought they spotted some Photoshop fails in the form of an extra unidentified leg and Prince Louis missing a finger. Many other fans seemed to find solutions, hinting that the extra leg wasn't extra, as it did in fact belong to Prince William, while Prince Louis' missing thumb may have just been bent in an awkward way while resting on the chair. Either way, the internet had a *lot* to say about the picture, as did the photographer Josh Shinner.
Following the Photoshop controversy, he took to Instagram and wrote: "It was such a pleasure to photograph the Prince and Princess of Wales and their family for the Christmas portrait this year. Without doubt one of the most relaxed and enjoyable sittings I've ever had, and now I have a whole new set of jokes that are right on my level thanks to the children." A source also told US Weekly that Prince William and Kate "were as shocked as everyone else" when they caught wind of the Photoshop fail allegations.
6. Kim Kardashian
One of the 43-year-old Skims founder's many Photoshop fails this year took place back in April, when she shared a mirror selfie while modelling a tiny nude-colored bikini. Her fans instantly took to the comments section to accuse her of poorly Photoshopping the picture, as one of her fingers appeared to be missing, while other Instagram users thought her knee didn't look right.
"Wait where's the middle finger?" asked one fan, as someone else said, "I'm also a little concerned about her fingers on that phone," and another asked, "Why do her fingers look like that?" Another fan said, "Why are your fingers deformed," followed by two crying laughing emojis, adding, "Very poorly edited picture." Some fans did actually come to the Kardashians star's defense, and thought her finger was just hidden behind a pop socket on the back of her phone. "Just looks like she has a pop socket in her phone and her fingers are around that," clarified one fan, although many others weren't buying it, with one asking: "A pop socket makes your fingers look like long worms?"
And it wasn't just her fingers that fans discussed. "Half her left knee is missing," one fan wrote. "Why are your inner thighs pixelated?" asked another, as another fan said: "The amount of editing is absurd."
7. Kourtney Kardashian
We're finishing off with one of the biggest question marks of the year, as fans couldn't quite work out whether this Kourtney Kardashian picture was *so* edited, or not edited at all! Earlier this year, the Lemme founder took some pictures to showcase her new platinum blonde hairdo – but it wasn't the hair that garnered the most attention, it was a mysterious lump on her arm. "What's that funny lump on the right arm?" one fan asked, as another thought the "lighting" was to blame, while several others thought it was just a bulge from her corset being a little too tight.
"If you look closely it looks like a lighting reflection," said one fan, as another thought her corset was "probably very tight and pushing her skin up. "It's literally just skin pushed up from a tight top. All these comments [is why] they all edit everything so much," said another. "I'm sure it's just bad editing," another fan added, as someone else agreed, writing: "Poor editing."
