We thought the thong pants trend might be a one-off when we saw celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Addison Rae rocking the early 2000s look earlier this summer. But recently, more and more celebs have been stepping out in the thong pants trend. Because she’s a trendsetter and definitely not afraid to try every trend there is—from butterfly crop tops to all things sheer—it should come as no surprise that Dua Lipa has jumped on the thong pants trend bandwagon and hers made our jaws drop!

Dua took to Instagram on December 8th to share her upcoming collab with Puma. Dua captioned her post: “DUA X @PUMA FLUTUR CAPSULE COLLECTION OUT DEC 18TH our first drop to tease what’s coming in 2022 shot by @danielsannwald” with her trademark butterfly emojis and got over 2.5m likes from her 76m followers. Dua was serving Britney Spears “I’m a Slave 4 U” pop princess vibes with her super sexy black pants and green thong combo. We’re loving this early aughts vibe and can’t wait for Dua butterfly and thong-pants-filled collab with Puma.

And Dua Lipa isn’t the only celeb we’re crediting for making thongs pants resurface yet again this year. Halsey also recently stepped out on November 26th to attend the Lakers vs. Pistons game at the Staples Center in LA wearing an all-black look that included a grunge tank top and studded cut-out thong pants.

Queen of Fenty and sexy, Rihanna, also rocked the thong pants trend at the Met Gala after party this fall. And Dua herself tested the thong waters with thong-style cut-out pants a few months ago, but this latest pair is getting even more likes from her ever-growing Instagram followers.
