Céline Dion Gives Fans An Update On The Future Of Her Career Amid Stiff Person Syndrome Battle As They React: ‘You’ve Got This’

Céline Dion‘s older sister Claudette Dion has been updating fans about the singer’s battle with Stiff Person Syndrome for quite a while – but now it’s finally time to hear from Céline herself!
The 56-year-old five-time Grammy winner first told her fans the heartbreaking news about her battle with the rare neurological condition on social media back in 2022. She later told them that she had to cancel all of her future concert dates due to her struggles with the condition that sometimes, according to her sister, meant that she could “barely move.”
In an Instagram message in recognition of International SPS Awareness Day, the “That’s The Way It Is” singer acknowledged her diagnosis while lending support to fellow sufferers of the condition, while also telling her 6.4M followers about her sheer determination to return to the stage in the future.
“Today the world recognizes International SPS Awareness Day,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of herself posing proudly with her sons René-Charles, Nelson and Eddy, who she shares with her late husband René Angélil.
“As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible. I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!” Céline’s post continued.
She concluded her post by adding: “I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it! Love Céline xx.”
