Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz calling off their engagement wasn’t on our 2024 bingo card.
The 44-year-old Magic Mike’s Last Dance actor was papped looking somewhat “disheveled,” to quote the Daily Mail, in Gastonia, North Carolina on Wednesday, October 30th, just one day after the news that he and his 35-year-old fiancée had called off their engagement had broken. Check out some of the pictures here.
As per the pap pics, the Fly Me to the Moon actor was wearing a pair of oversized basketball shorts and a loose Mr. Zog’s Sex Wax T-shirt while puffing on a cigarette. And some of his fans seemed to be worried about him after they saw the pictures.
“Hope he’s okay,” wrote one fan on a Deuxmoi post on Threads, featuring some of the pictures, followed by several red heart emojis. “Breakups are so painful. I wish them both peace,” wrote a second fan in the comments of a Daily Mail article, as a third begged: “Leave him alone. Goodness me he may well be hurting. He’s a human believe it or not.”
For what it’s worth, the Big Little Lies actress was spotted on a solo outing in New York a few days ago, and she appeared to be in “good spirits,” to quote the Daily Mail, who published the pictures. She was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans, a casual white tank top, and a matching dark blue trench coat, alongside a dark blue baseball cap and sunglasses.
What Happened Between Channing Tatum And Zoë Kravitz?
The internet is still trying to get to grips with the news that Channing and Zoë have broken up after three years of dating; but judging by what a few insiders have said, it seems like they had just grown apart. An insider reportedly told People that "they haven't been on the same page and grew apart," which Us Weekly's insider also echoed.
"Wedding plans were looming, but neither of them were rushing to the altar," Us Weekly's source said, before going on to say that the pair decided to "rethink" the relationship after they finished working together on Blink Twice, the movie which Zoë directed and Channing starred in.
"Ultimately once the project ended, they realized they were on different pages with what they wanted. It fizzled fast after their press tour wrapped," the insider continued, adding: "Zoë is a very independent person. After her divorce, she expressed that she didn't necessarily need to get married again."
Channing And Zoë 'Realized They May Not Be A Good Match' But 'There Is Still A Lot Of Love Between Them
The source added: "She and Channing are opposites, but they always bonded over their love for art and film, and that is what held them together. They realized long-term that it wasn't going to work out. They were looking at the long-term bigger picture and realized they may not be a good match."
The source went on to say that "there is still a lot of love between them" and the breakup was "amicable," which could mean that they could potentially get back together in the future.
But even if they don't, at least things won't be too awkward when they work on their new movie together next year. The former couple will be working on the alien invasion comedy Alpha Gang in the spring of 2025, which also stars Cate Blanchett, Léa Seydoux, Riley Keough, Dave Bautista, and Steven Yeun.
