Charlize Theron is wholeheartedly embracing her appearance at 48 despite the unreasonable beauty standards of Hollywood and any speculations regarding her looks.
In a new interview with Allure, conducted to commemorate her enduring partnership with Dior’s J’Adore fragrance, the stunning Fast X star spoke openly about the experience of being a woman over 40 in the entertainment industry. She also shut down rumors that she got a facelift or “bad plastic surgery.”
“My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging,” she told the outlet. “People think I had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like, ‘B—h, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.'”

The Oscar winner also highlighted the unjust gender biases that underlie societal perceptions of women’s aging and physical appearance. “I’ve always had issues with the fact that men kind of age like fine wines and women like cut flowers,” she said.
“I despise that concept and I want to fight against it, but I also think women want to age in a way that feels right to them. I think we need to be a little bit more empathetic to how we all go through our journey. My journey of having to see my face on a billboard is quite funny now,” she continued.

Theron has previously expressed her views on appreciating the natural aging process and finding beauty and positive aspects in the changes it brings. In 2012, she sat down with Interview Magazine and said: “I look in the mirror and my face is changing, and I have a different relationship all of a sudden with myself. Your face changes, things change — that’s just kind of what happens,” the Bombshell alum explained.

Earlier this month, Theron rang in her 48th trip around the sun and celebrated her big day at a Taylor Swift concert with her two daughters, Jackson, 11, and August, 7. Along with a sweet video post for her 7.5 million followers, Theron wrote in her caption: “Thank you for the best birthday ever @taylorswift!!! We had such a great f—-g time.”
