Cher Rocks An Edgy Ensemble At The iHeart Radio Awards In A Crystal Corset
Following the presentation of the trophy by the Academy Award-winning actress, Cher shared the story behind her choice of the 40-year-old pants, expressing gratitude to those who have stood by her throughout the decades.
"There are people who say, ‘Doesn’t [she] have more than one pair of pants?" she said with laughter, "I’ve had these pants for 40 years. I thought we should come here and accept this award together."
The 77-year-old, who attended with her boyfriend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, continued to add that she felt "lucky to have people that have stayed with me all these years," and how many of the people currently watching her weren't even born when she first started.
Her road to stardom wasn't easy though, as she also said, "I don’t usually talk about it, but I have been down and out so many times you could not believe it. Dropped by record companies, couldn’t get a job… they said, ‘Oh, she’s so over.’ But I never gave up my dream."
