It seems the days of Styrofoam cups at Chick-fil-A are soon to be long gone—and customers aren’t happy about it. The restaurant is doing away with these beloved cups and replacing them with more environmentally friendly options, but they may be losing some customer loyalty in turn. Following the controversy over buns that reportedly tasted like tires, it could be the last straw for some.

TikToker Aleesha Thomas recently posted a video ranting about the recent change, garnering hundreds of comments from Chick-fil-A diehards who feel her pain. Find all of the details below.

Chick-fil-A getting rid of Styrofoam cups

For years, fans have flocked to this fast food chicken restaurant for a few things: amazing sandwiches, beloved drinks, and—believe it or not—the specific pleasure of a Styrofoam cup. But all that changed recently, as Chick-fil-A has made the pivot to paper cups, which cause less harm to the environment.

One TikToker, @aleesha.thomas, recently expressed her distress over this change on the platform. “I had to pull over because I’m distraught,” she said. “What is this Chick-fil-A? Where is my Styrofoam cup? That was my comfort cup. That’s how I knew my Dr. Peppers would be extra crispy.”

While this reaction may seem dramatic to some, the comments make it clear that Thomas isn't alone in her strong feelings about the change. In fact, many customers are threatening to stop going to the restaurant altogether.

"When the one closest to me gave me this…. And with a paper straw….. I decided to never go back," one person wrote.

"We do not want paper cups! We want our styrofoam cups! I drive out of my way to get a CFA drink because of the styrofoam cup," another comment reads.

"Absolutely not!!! CFA, y’all’s cups were the best! Don’t give us that paper garbage," someone else protested.

A few comments noted that they experienced similar disappointment when McDonald's shifted away from Styrofoam years ago.

But a few people are applauding Chick-fil-A for their environmental efforts—and some are even saying the Styrofoam cups were around for too long.

As one person put it: 'The question is not why they changed, but why were they using Styrofoam cups this late in the game to begin with."

However, this change, on top of the fact that Chick-fil-A has started charging for extra pickles at certain locations, is just one more thing that could be turning customers away for good. But what do you think? Is this change for the better, or do you prefer the "crispiness" of a drink from a Styrofoam cup?
