Chipotle Mexican Grill announced that it has opened its first digital-only location amid the novel coronavirus outbreak!
The first Chipotle Digital Kitchen is now operating in Highland Falls, New York. This is huge!
Thanks to the rise of online sales during COVID-19, Chipotle was able to create a prototype for the smaller, digital-only restaurants. This means the beloved burrito chain will be able to open more locations in urban areas where full-size restaurants aren't possible.

"With digital sales tripling year over year last quarter, consumers are demanding more digital access than ever before so we're constantly exploring new ways to enhance the experience for our guests," chief technology officer Curt Garner said in a statement last month.
So, how will the digital-only locations look? To start, they won't include a dining room or front service line. You will need to place orders in advance via their mobile app, third party delivery partners or the Chipotle website. Lastly, you can pick up your order in the lobby (catering service orders will also be available!).

This year has been marked by a few changes to how Chipotle does business in the crisis; first they switched to mobile ordering through Facebook Messenger, and group ordering in June.
