It isn’t just skyrocketing prices that Chipotle customers are upset about. Chipotle enthusiasts have taken to Reddit to voice their disappointment over the quality of guacamole at the popular fast-casual chain.

A recent post titled “Guac has been awful lately” in the Chipotle subreddit highlights the growing dissatisfaction among customers, accompanied by a photo of a bowl featuring some unappetizing-looking guacamole—and the reactions are pretty funny. Find all the details below.

Chipotle Customers Complain About “Nasty” Guacamole

The original Reddit post reads: “Saw someone else post about how nasty the guac has been lately. This was from the bowl I ordered last week… I went back and had them remake me a bowl without any guac. If you’re planning on getting guac next time you go to Chipotle, maybe order it on the side just to be safe.”

The photo sparked a wave of reactions from the community, with many expressing their dismay at the guacamole’s appearance. One user bluntly commented, “That looks disgusting,” while another added, “And horrifying. I would not pay for that. I’d honestly walk out because then you’re going to have to throw it away and make another one. Unless I was super hungry, then I would wait for them to make another.”

“Bro got some palak paneer on his Chipotle bowl,” one commenter quipped, referencing the popular Indian spinach dish. Another echoed the sentiment with, “That ain’t guac brother.”

Interestingly, not all Chipotle locations seem to be affected. A user from Wisconsin mentioned, “Where I live though in Wisconsin the Chipotle is golden. Except that one weirdo on wrap and beans detail.” This suggests that the issue may be region-specific or inconsistent across different stores.

Amid the customer complaints, a current Chipotle employee weighed in on the discussion, providing some insight into the situation. "We’ve been having issues with our avocado supplier for weeks. The guac is still fresh and safe. It just kinda… looks like that," they explained.

Last year, similar complaints arose about the restaurant's chips, which some found to be diminishing in quality.

Complaints about prices are also common.

Ultimately, while Chipotle continues to be a favorite for many, the recent guacamole issue has certainly left a bad taste in some customers' mouths. As the chain works through its supply challenges, customers might want to heed the advice from fellow patrons and inspect their guac before digging in. For now, ordering it on the side might be the safest bet to ensure a satisfying meal experience.
