Chipotle Announces More Possible Price Hikes On 3 Popular Menu Items As Fans Threaten To ‘Boycott’
December 19, 2024 by Marissa Matozzo
Chipotle’s new finance leader is contemplating price hikes on three of its popular menu items. The Mexican grill chain might soon increase the costs of its burritos and rice bowls as it faces escalating expenses. Since 2021, there have already been six price hikes, prompting some customers to start boycotts, arguing the chain has become too pricey.
The current talks about raising prices stem from the rising costs of raw ingredients like avocados, queso, and sour cream. Adjusting menu prices could help offset these expenses, directly affecting customers. According to the U.S. Sun, some are even threatening to “boycott” Chipotle due to the rising prices.
