The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall of Walmart’s nationwide sold cake due to an error in labeling that omitted peanuts as an ingredient.

The incorrectly labeled product, “Marketside Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake,” was instead listed as “Marketside Chocolate Chip Explosion Cake,” which failed to provide information about the presence of peanuts or include an allergen warning on the packaging.

Approximately 960 units of this 7-ounce, clear plastic packaged product marked with #BS23212 are affected by the recall.

Walmart's 'Marketside' Chocolate Cakes Recalled After Incorrect Labels Fail To Mention Peanuts

While there have been no reported incidents linked to the mislabeling, Walmart has taken action by removing all "Marketside Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake" and "Marketside Chocolate Chip Explosion Cakes" from its store shelves.

The retailer is conducting a thorough investigation in collaboration with the manufacturer, David’s Cookies. As a result, customers who bought the affected cakes can obtain a complete refund by returning them to the Walmart stores they purchased them from.

David's Cookies made an official announcement on September 19th regarding the recall of 960 units of "Marketside Chocolate Chip Explosion Cake" with the lot number BS23212.

To address any queries, customers can get in touch with David’s Cookies at 800-500-2800 during business hours, which are between 8:30 am and 5:00 am in the DST Eastern time zone.

Stay safe!
