TikToker @ashleymay970, a nutrition coach who has over 160K followers on the app and has lost 32 pounds “after years of yo-yo dieting,” shared a recipe she calls the “protein mug cake,” which is essentially a healthy version of the beloved chocolate cake. This recipe contains 170 calories and 26 grams of protein. Read on to get all the details.

High-Protein Chocolate Mug Cake

Ashley starts out by revealing the potential causes behind your intense sugar cravings. “You’re not eating protein during the day and/or you are dehydrated,” she notes.

She adds that you should try to get at least 100 grams of protein a day while also aiming for a gallon of water. “Don’t forget to add the electrolytes,” she states.

For the recipe, you’ll need 1 egg, 1 scoop of your go-to protein powder that’s 20 grams or higher, 1 quarter of a teaspoon baking powder (not soda!), 2 tablespoons of water, and mix all of that in a bowl until “it gets to the perfect cake-like consistency.”

Then add a handful of your favorite chocolate chips. “This is going to give you the perfect amount of sweetness and make you feel like you are eating a brownie molten lava cake.”

For the last step, you’re going to put the mix inside a microwave for 30-45 seconds and enjoy when ready! You can sprinkle some more chocolate chips on it for more chocolate goodness.
