Chrissy Teigen is continuing to struggle in the wake of her social media bullying scandal.
Back in May, the cookback author came under fire when reality TV personality Courtney Stodden opened up about the hurtful social media comments Chrissy had made to her years before. “She wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself,” Courtney told the Daily Beast, revealing that her mental health had suffered as a result.
Once Courtney confessed her truth, other celebs-including “Teen Mom” star Farrah Abraham-shared similar accounts of bullying at Chrissy’s hands. In response, the former “Lip Sync Battle” host posted a public apology on Instagram where she wrote that she was “mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention-seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.”
But following her apology, it seems things have only gotten worse for Chrissy!
Shortly after news of Chrissy's bullying made headlines, both Macy's and Bloomingdale's dropped ber cookware range, "Cravings." Chrissy also opted to drop out of her role in season two of the hit Netflix show "Never Have I Ever," as she weathered the scandal.
Then, on July 14, she took to Instagram to share an update on her mental health amid the controversy. (Spoiler alert: things have gotten even worse for the cookbook queen.)
Admitting that she's at a loss for words, Chrissy opened up to fans about her current feelings. "Iiiii don't really know what to say here...just feels so weird to pretend nothing happened in this online world but feel like utter s--t in real life," she captioned a picture of herself on the couch. "Going outside sucks and doesn't feel right, being at home alone with my mind makes my depressed head race."
But after some self-reflection, Chrissy realized the way that she's coping with everything (aka stayed cooped up inside) "isn't the right answer." Instead of staying silent, she has chosen to share her own challenges as a means of moving forward.
"I feel lost and need to find my place again, I need to snap out of this, I desperately wanna communicate with you guys instead of pretending everything is okay. I'm not used to any other way," she explained.
Adding that she's learned a lot about "cancel club" in the past two months, John Legend's wife said that the situation is "impossible to know til you're in it." She added that "it's hard" to talk about her struggles without sounding "whiney," because "you've clearly done something wrong."
Chrissy concluded by saying that the whole thing "just sucks. There is no winning. ...All I know is I love you guys, I miss you guys, and I just needed an honest moment with you because I'm just...tired of being sick with myself all day."
Though the star believes she may "get brutally picked apart," it's still better than "this silent s--t anymore!" Well, at least she said her piece.
