Christina Aguilera is looking better – and dare we also say younger?! – than ever these days. And a large part of it is down to her super-trim figure, which was achieved after an epic 40-lb weight loss.
So how did the 43-year-old “Pa Mis Muchachas” singer lose a super-impressive 40 lbs. and find herself in the best shape of her life? Reportedly through a combination of a healthy diet and rigorous exercise – and *not* weight loss injections such as Ozempic!
What Did Christina Aguilera Eat And Not Eat For Her 40-Lb Weight Loss?
The five-time Grammy winner has said in the past that she previously followed the Rainbow Diet, especially after the birth of her children – 15-year-old son Max, and nine-year-old daughter Summer – and after her divorce from Jordan Bratman. Now, she reportedly focuses more on eating whole foods and exercising in order to maintain her svelte and enviable frame.
The "Genie In A Bottle" singer gained weight during her pregnancy with her son Max. Two years later, to star in Burlesque, she lost some weight, but gained it back later that year when she divorced Bratman. The secret to her weight loss? Xtina revealed that she restricted her daily food intake to 1600 calories and followed the Rainbow Diet.
The Rainbow Diet encourages people to stick to a plant-based or mostly plant-based diet full of brightly colored fruits and vegetables. The daily goal is to eat one serving of fruit or vegetables that are the natural colors of the rainbow. But it wasn't just about what she *was* eating – it was also what she wasn't eating, as both condiments and alcohol were banned because of their empty/wasted calories.
However, now the star has strayed away from restrictive dieting and rather focuses on consuming whole foods and less sugary, processed foods.
What About Exercise?
According to several reports throughout the years, the "Ain't No Other Man" singer does her fair share of exercise to maintain her incredible physique. This typically includes cardio four or five times a week, as well as boxing, yoga, and strength training.
She has reportedly previously worked out with celebrity trainer, Tee Sorge, who incorporated lifting heavy weights with strength training and cardio to boost her metabolism to maximize calorie burn. All of this will no doubt come in handy when she is on stage for several hours at a time!
Christina Aguilera Opened Up About Feeling 'Insecure' About Her Shape When She Was Younger
The "Dirrty" singer isn't afraid to flaunt her slim and trim body on the stage these days. (We would too if we looked like her!) But she didn't always have the same body confidence!
Back in 2021, the mom-of-two told Health magazine that she didn't always love her body, especially in her younger years when she felt "so insecure" about her lack of curves. She then explained that she felt a lot more confident once she "started filling out a little bit" as she got older.
"I think we all have our good days and our bad days in how we feel about ourselves. Entering this business, I hated being super skinny. Once I turned 21, I started filling out a little bit, and I was loving my new curves," she candidly explained. "I appreciated having a booty," she continued, adding: "I've always said that women are way more interesting to look at than men. I have a hard time looking at the early pictures of myself because I remember feeling so insecure."

Fans Congratulate Xtina On Weight Loss While Others Ask 'Ozempic?'
In December 2023, many fans took to social media to congratulate Aguilera on her weight loss, but others weren't so supportive. "Ozempic for sure," one fan wrote.
"What a coincidence how all these people are suddenly and magically able to drop large amounts of weight at the same time!" another user said. "She's taking the O," a third person said, as a fourth added: "Welcome to body by Ozempic. It's not miraculous, it's science."
But others were simply happy for the singer. "Beautiful girl, fantastic voice!" one fan wrote. "She looks more like herself now," another fan commented, as someone else praised: "Good job losing the excess weight! Doesn't matter how she did it." "We should be less critical of people. When you're in your 40s, it's just not as easy to lose weight. Some have better DNA. That's how life goes," said another. "Gorgeous woman!" a final fan exclaimed.
