Despite sparking rumors of using the controversial diabetes drug Ozempic to lose weight earlier this year, Christina Aguilera‘s recent transformation has been attributed by fans to a gradual and “healthy” weight loss journey over the years.

As the “Beautiful” singer, 43, continues to showcase a trimmer figure, supporters have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to defend her against rumors of using the drug for weight loss.

On April 20th, one viral video emerged on the platform of Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Ray Rahban, MD, explaining what “Ozempic face” is, and how a loss of facial fat and volume can signal that someone may have taken the drug to shed pounds.

Fans were quick to point out that Aguilera’s face didn’t seem to fit Rahban’s description, and they used this to convey their point that she “lost weight naturally.”

Fans On X Defend Christina Aguilera’s ‘Healthy’ Weight Loss Transformation: ‘Not Showing Any Ozempic Face’

In his viral video, Rahban said that “Ozempic face” refers to when someone “loses a rapid amount of weight from gastric bypass, Ozempic, Atkins diet or stress, losing volume in their body, and their face is going to show it.”

In response, one X user @boyamamartin wrote on April 19th: “From this information our mother XTINA not showing any ozempic face,so icon Christina Aguilera lost her weight naturally.” The fan used a recent photoshoot video of Aguilera and added: “So this debunked all the ozempic rumors. Mother Christina Aguilera the original skinny legend.”

More of the Grammy winner's fans headed to a similar thread to share their thoughts.

"Stop saying it is ozempic when [Aguilera] did this in literally a year, without bulls—t harmful weight-loss drugs," one tweeted as someone else added: "Also, she’s 5 ft nothing…even 15/20 lbs would make a huge difference on her tiny frame," suggesting that for the reason behind her looking "much thinner" lately.

One other concurred, writing: "I think people forget that given she’s only 5’2″, even just a 20 or 25lb weight change shows drastically different on her frame/face etc. It’s not like she was ever obese."

According to an insider who spoke with Life & Style, Aguilera was able to shed 40 pounds by implementing a blend of limiting calorie intake and engaging in physical activity.

The source also said that the "Genie in a Bottle" hitmaker is limiting herself to a daily intake of just 1,600 calories and engaging in "rigorous" workouts every single day of the week.

"Christina didn’t feel as energetic with extra weight," the tipster told the outlet, adding: "Some are concerned she’ll gain the weight back but she loves all the attention she’s getting."

Aguilera’s body image, as many fans pointed out, has "unfairly" been a constant topic of discussion throughout her career. Despite facing criticism for her weight fluctuations, she has remained transparent about her evolving physical appearance.

In her early years, Aguilera rapidly gained prominence in the music industry, signing a recording contract with RCA and releasing her debut album under her own name before reaching the age of 20.

Having displayed remarkable talent and unyielding dedication, the "Dirrty" crooner was ultimately rewarded with the highly-coveted Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

Yet, despite this rapid ascent to stardom, the esteemed vocalist was plagued by feelings of self-consciousness. In a 2021 interview with Health, Aguilera offered poignant insights into the challenges she faced during the early stages of her career, particularly in relation to her struggles with body image.

"I think we all have our good days and our bad days in how we feel about ourselves," the mom of two told the publication, after previously noting that she felt "criticized for being on both sides of the scale."

She went on, opening up to the outlet: "Entering this business, I hated being super skinny. Once I turned 21, I started filling out a little bit, and I was loving my new curves. I appreciated having a booty."
