This article has been updated since its initial publish date to include more information on Christina Aguilera’s rumored plastic surgery.
Christina Aguilera recently joined Glamour for a video celebrating her feature in their new issue last month. In the footage, the “Beautiful” singer revisited the popular fashion trends of the Y2K era and early 2000s. Shortly after the video made its way to TikTok, fans were quick to shower Aguilera with compliments, calling her appearance “stunning” and “radiant.”
Many were astonished by how youthful the 43-year-old looked, with some even suggesting she appeared to be in her twenties again. Speculation arose about possible cosmetic enhancements, as others admitted they initially “didn’t recognize” her, thinking she might have undergone some expertly “subtle” procedures.
In the clip, the Grammy winner told viewers: “Hi I’m Christina Aguilera for Glamour and I’m going to be sharing my take on Y2K fashion.” The “Dirrty” artist, who donned a beige, strapless top with distressed sleeves and a shiny metal statement necklace, added: “Y2K is like popular now, right?”
For her glam, Aguilera wore her signature platinum blonde tresses down, parted to the side and styled into effortless loose waves. For her makeup look, the mom of two (who recently wowed fans with her weight loss transformation) sported shimmering silver eyeshadow, bold black winged liner, sky-high lashes, ample rosy blush and a glossy, overlined pink pout.
The “Fighter” crooner shared her thoughts on a crimper, Lip Smackers gloss, platform wedges and more. Fans headed to the clip’s comments section to share their thoughts. “How did she de-age, i swear she looked her age just recently,” one wrote as another added: “She is PRESERVED and GORGEOUS.” Someone else concurred, replying: “This is wildddd. She may have the best work bc she looks her younger self.”
While Aguilera has not responded to these fresh plastic surgery claims, other viewers had similar suspicions. “Whatever work she has had done is IMMACULATE she looks fantastic and still like herself!!” one wrote. An additional user commented: “I want to know what she had done. Not to hate, to get it done myself.” Some fans also thought the Burlesque alum was hard to recognize at first. “You could have given me 50 guesses, and I would never have guessed this was Christina Aguilera!” one noted as another added: “I did not recognise her.”
During a candid interview with Allure last year, Aguilera discussed her experiences with cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery, expressing her transparency with her fans and followers. “I think it’s great to share and to be honest and open about what you’re doing — in your comfort zone, of course,” she shared.
The “Genie in a Bottle” hitmaker (who has represented Merz Aesthetics and Xeomin, a renowned injectable treatment for frown lines) also noted: “I’ve always been a pretty open book about embracing my body, my looks, and things like that.” She went on to state that she had no objections to cosmetic surgeries or anti-aging treatments.
“I think we all can rely on a little help. Why not? Viewing aging as a negative is a super old-school approach,” she said. However, she admitted her initial fear of losing her sense of “authenticity” due to the procedures. “I have a very expressive face, and when I sing, the emotion there has got to come through. I don’t have time to have a stoic, still face,” she said. “For me, it’s about bringing that realness to the stage and my daily life while still doing what I can to feel and look my best.”
Ultimately, Aguilera divulged that she is fully embracing her age, holding an exceptionally optimistic perspective on her life as she continues to age. “I’ve seen myself go through different stages of my life and complain about certain things. As I’ve gotten older, I look back, and I’m like, ‘God, every stage is a new era.’ I’m really into feeling more self-assured as you get older. That’s the thing to truly embrace. It’s harmful when [aging] becomes an obsession.”
