Christina Aguilera has always been a style icon and a true fashion maximalist—like the plunging black sequined gown she wore to the GLAAD Awards. And, she further makes a case for maximalism with her outfit at the 9th annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 15th. Even though the occasion was formal, that didn’t stop Christina from proving that more is more. The “Dirrty” singer revived the celebrity-approved sheer fashion trend, wearing a see-through Versace outfit covered in velvet zebra stripes.

Instead of a floor-length gown or a chic power suit, Christina opted for a black velvet zebra-print bodysuit. The jumpsuit featured sheer striped panels which revealed her nude bra and black underwear underneath. The "Lady Marmalade" singer paired the figure-hugging catsuit with a dramatic floor-sweeping black coat and over-the-top Batgirl sunglasses from Prada. Christina isn't scared of trying new trends. In February, she hopped on Instagram to try out the no-pants trend.
Aside from her sunnies, she accessorized with a geometric yellow-diamond Graff necklace with a heart-shaped locket, diamond hoop earrings, open-toe PVC Gianvito Rossi slingback sandals, and a tiny chain-strap black bag. And, she finished off the look with a black-and-white nail design that complemented her ensemble and highlighted the two diamond rings she wore on each hand.
As for her glam, Christina slicked her iconic blonde hair back into a chic topknot with tendrils in front to perfectly frame her face. She rocked a classic smokey eye and a '90s-inspired lined mauve lip.
Christina wasn't the only celebrity to attend the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony. Other well-dressed stars in attendance included Brie Larson, Gal Gadot, and Chris Pine. Standouts include Kristen Bell who donned a lime Cong Tri bodysuit and Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher who coordinated in equally chic black suits.
