If you start your day with a hot cup of coffee to get your morning caffeine fix, you probably have a go-to creamer. Coffee creamers add flavoring and thickening to your drink, and cut the bitterness that comes with coffee. But most creamers are pretty unhealthy for you – and there is one that you should avoid under all circumstances.

Many people think that coffee creamers can be better for you than milk and sugar, because it requires you to only add one ingredient to your drink instead of two. But the sweeter the creamer is, the worse it actually is for your health.

The Dunkin Donuts coffee creamers are popular favorites because they let you get the sweet flavors of the coffee shop's signature drinks for a fraction of the cost, at home. But these are the worst types of creamers for your health.

Depending on which flavor you get, a Dunkin Donuts coffee creamer can add as much as six grams of sugar, 1.5 grams of fat and 40 calories to your drink. This might be a little less fat than using regular milk or cream, but it is way more sugar than you would add without using flavored creamer.

The best way to keep your coffee as healthy as possible is to only add milk instead of cream. A splash of milk won't bring the fat content up to high, and if you can avoid using sugar at all, you can turn your morning caffeine into a healthy hot drink.
