While shopping at Costco, many customers like to grab a classic hot dog and fountain drink soda beverage all for one dollar and fifty cents. The beloved combo cost is here to stay despite inflation, as the wholesale giant just reassured (so fans can breathe a sigh of relief!) Although shoppers have been expressing concerns online over recent prices hikes for other items at Costco, the retailer seems to have fully committed to keeping this tasty duo under two dollars.

During a presentation on fourth-quarter financial results last week, Costco CFO Richard Galanti said that they aren’t trying to fill in any gaps potentially left by the ultra-cheap meal. “We really don’t look at it that way,” he noted on the call, as reported by MarketWatch.
Galanti explained that other areas of the business, like the gas and travel sides, were doing well enough to let them “be more aggressive” in other parts of the store. “Or, as you mentioned, hold the price on the hot dog and the soda a little longer — forever,” he said. (Yay!)

If the price of the hot dog combo was officially adjusted for inflation, MarketWatch calculated that it should cost up to four dollars and eleven cents by now. But, as People Magazine points out, “[the hot dog combo price] is a massive part of the brand’s culture — and history — to keep it at the $1.50 price tag.”
When asked if he would ever raise the iconic food court item’s price, CEO Craig Jelinek simply and assuredly replied in a CNBC July interview, “No,” if we needed any more reassurance that this price will stay the same! You can pick up the hot dog combo at any of Costco’s 583 locations in 48 U.S. states. In addition, Galanti said the big box retailer does not have plans to raise membership fees, which currently start at sixty dollars.
