Costco Just Announced Their Holiday Hours–It’s Time To Get Shopping!
October 18, 2021 by Justine Schwartz
Halloween is only a few weeks away, and before you know it it will be time to start thinking about Thanksgiving meal prep and holiday shopping (actually scratch that–thanks to the global shipping crisis, gift shopping should already be on your radar). If you’re wondering whether America’s largest retailers will remain closed on Thanksgiving this year, aka who will you be able to rely on for your day-of grocery emergencies, we have some important updates on that front. Costco will, again, remain closed for Thanksgiving this year as it has in the past (which falls on Thursday, November 25 this year). So, plan accordingly, folks.
The warehouse club confirmed via its website that like years past, it will shutter its doors for Turkey Day. We love that this means Costco employees can have this holiday off and (hopefully) be able to spend time with family members. Although it is slightly inconvenient for us to have to get all our stuffing ingredients and beverages and paper products (… and the list goes on) ahead of time, as a country we think it’s an important practice to give workers the time off. Especially after the year and a half these essential front-line workers have had!
While stores like Walmart, Sam’s Club and Target made very public announcements about their closing on Thanksgiving, Costco was much more discreet about the whole thing. Again, because they are typically closed on Thanksgiving, we doubt they wanted to make a big fuss about it–but for inquiring minds, their website has their holiday closures listed and Thanksgiving is one of them. Also on the list? Christmas Day, so you’ll also need to plan to have all your food and household items for Christmas at-home before December 25th.
