Costco mattresses recalled for mold
You never want mold in your home—especially in your mattress. Unfortunately for people who purchased Novaform mattresses from Costco earlier this year, that may be what they're dealing with. This is just one of several recalls on Costco products this year.
According to a statement from FXI, affected mattresses, which were manufactured in San Bernardino, California between January and April, "could have been exposed to water during the manufacturing process allowing mold to develop and posing a health risk to individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold." Affected products will have dark discoloration.
The recall was issued on September 21 and includes Novaform ComfortGrande 14-inch mattresses, along with Novaform DreamAway 8pinch mattresses. These were priced at $150 to $750 and were sold exclusively at Costco, both online and at Costco stores in the San Francisco Bay area between January 2023 and June 2023.
Products with the following model numbers have been recalled:
ComfortGrande 14-inch Mattress
King: 1413200
Cal King: 1413201
Queen: 1413202
Full: 1413203

If you purchased one of these products you are encouraged to return them for a full refund or a replacement mattress, including free delivery. You can also have your recalled mattress picked up and disposed of, free of charge.
So far, 541 reports of mold have been issued, but there are not yet any injuries linked to these products. However, keeping up with recent recalls like this and following safety guidelines is an important part of keeping you and your family safe and healthy.
