2. The Chicken Bake
The chicken bake was once a fan favorite, but this Reddit thread proves that it's not for everyone—in fact, it may be seeing a decline in popularity. "Honestly, the chicken bake grossed me out," shared one Redditor. Another echoed the sentiment, saying, "I really enjoyed the first 1/8th of the chicken bake...not so much the last 7/8ths."
"Yeah I don't get why people like that thing. It's really not good," someone else remarked, while others blamed "shrinkflation," claiming that it was "good before they changed things" and "30% larger too." RIP!
3. Sushi
While Costco is known for offering a variety of affordable and convenient food options, their sushi failed to impress. "I know what high-quality sushi is, but I am content to eat supermarket sushi, and even convenience store sushi," wrote one member. "With the exception of spoiled food, the Costco California rolls were the worst thing I have ever eaten. Spit out into a napkin, throw the rest in the trash, make peanut butter sandwiches as a replacement." Yikes!
4. The Pizza
Even the beloved Costco pizza has its critics. "Never again. So doughy and heavy," declared one dissatisfied customer. Another, perhaps spoiled by the culinary delights of New York City, simply stated, "Costco pizza is nasty. No matter what the price is." However, one commenter jumped to defend this cult-favorite: "Pizza exists on a multidimensional spectrum. I could eat 5 completely different styles of pizza and love all of them." (For what it's worth, we like the Costco pizza, too.)
5. Pasta
If you ask us, it's hard to mess up some good old pasta. However, one Costco member had some strong feelings about Costco's rendition. A particularly scathing review came from a member in Fredericksburg, California, who couldn't believe the quality of the pasta being sold at their local Costco. "Absolutely nasty," they exclaimed. Some people also take issue with the macaroni and cheese. To each their own!
6. Turkey Swiss Sandwich
Costco's decision to add a new Turkey Swiss Sandwich to the food court menu, rather than bringing back the beloved Turkey & Provolone sandwich, has left some fans longing for the original. It seems the general consensus is that people prefer their sandwiches on the toastier side—and this one doesn't deliver in that department. "Just another cold and dry sandwich. Instant pass. I’m sure it will also cost more than the old toasted turkey provolone. It’s going to be another failure," quipped one Redditor. "I’m a huge fan of Swiss cheese and dijon, but serving ciabatta bread that’s not heated and buttered should be a war crime. I’d rather eat rocks and gravel," another wrote. Tell us how you really feel!
