9 Creative Bridal Shower Ideas Your Guests Will Love

August 24, 2017 by Linda DiProperzio

The bridal shower is a fun pre-wedding event that the bride doesn't have to plan (yay!). That means you can just show up and enjoy the day (and all of those gifts!). Of course, you want your guests to have a great time, too, so here are nine creative ideas everyone can enjoy. Feel free to pass them on to your maid of honor before she starts putting together this special event.

Plan some party games. There has to be more to the event than just guests watching the bride open gifts. Planning a few party games can make the time more enjoyable for all. Check out these non-lame games people will actually want to play!

Get crafty. Head down to Michael's or AC Moore to pick up supplies for an easy craft that guests can do during the shower. It can be something they give to the bride at the end of the party, or something that can be taken home as a favor.

Take a class. A dance lesson or a painting class, for example, will get guests out of their seats and encourage them to mix and mingle with one another.

Cook up something. Have the guests take a cooking class together, and then you can all sit down and enjoy the meal while the bride opens her gifts. Or, invite a chef to come and demonstrate how to make an extra special dish as part of the entertainment.

Enjoy a wine tasting. If you happen to live near a winery, then it could be the perfect location for a bridal shower. If not, see if someone from a local wine shop would be willing to put together a tasting for the guests.

Sing! While karaoke is usually associated with a drunken night out, there's no bad time to sing your heart out! Have guests pick songs that remind them of the bride.

Throw a dinner party. Shake things up in a way guests won't expect: Instead of the usual daytime shower, opt for a nice dinner at the bride's favorite restaurant.

Make it a night out. Choose a local pub or lounge for the shower and have a night out on the town with all of the girls (even moms and grandmas). You can even blend the bridal shower with the bachelorette party--perfect if you have many out-of-town guests that might not be able to make it to both.

Dress up. Why not make the shower a costume party? Have guests show up as their favorite movie star, superhero, literary character. You get the idea.
