CVS Announced Its Plan To ‘Move Rapidly’ With COVID Vaccines–It’s Really Happening!

According to Dr. Brennan, it could be just *days* after the vaccine receives final approval that it would begin "Phase 1," or administering them to nursing facilities. Pinch us--it's really happening!

Appearing on the news program on November 20th, the CMO revealed that the company was "working around the clock to be prepared when the vaccine is available," alongside Operation Warp Speed, the public-private COVID task force.

Dr. Brennan revealed that the company will make the first doses of the vaccine available to skilled nursing facilities.

Once the approval takes place (after advisory committee meetings this month and a final decision from the FDA after that), Brennan said it could mobilize the vaccine within "two or three days" or possibly as soon as mid-December. Wow!

CNN confirmed the news with a Tweet on November 20th. "Dr. Troy Brennan, chief medical officer of CVS Health, says he anticipates stores to begin offering Covid-19 vaccines by the end of February, and they are prepared to 'move rapidly.'"

In phase 2 and 3, or when the vaccine will be made available to the public, Dr. Brennan revealed: "We have a capacity to do 20-25 million vaccinations per month in our fleet of stores alone." This is incredible!
