The autumnal treat made its return on August 28th as part of a 30+ year tradition of being added onto fall menus for limited-time enjoyment. A recent leak of Dairy Queen‘s fall Blizzard menu made fans concerned that the fave wouldn’t be back for 2023, but the chain soothed worries with its official announcement of the item’s return this past Sunday.

Fans Celebrate Dairy Queen Bringing Back Popular Pumpkin Pie Blizzard For Fall
The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard has been a particular favorite treat of Dairy Queen fans since its debut on menus in 1991. Every fall afterwards, DQ has re-added the autumnal dessert back to restaurant menus for the season, often along with other similarly-themed options. The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is like enjoying a slice of the Thanksgiving favorite in a cup, with real pumpkin pie pieces blended into the chain’s classic vanilla soft serve ice cream, topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of delicious nutmeg. With one bite of this Blizzard, you’ll be instantly transported to a crisp autumn day at the pumpkin patch!
The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard will only be available for the fall season, so fans are already clamoring to grab their own. “It’s finally back!!!” cheered one fan in a comment on a Snackgator Instagram post announcing the item’s return. Another wrote, “My favorite blizzard of all time,” adding two heart-eyes emojis to the comment. One DQ disciple added, simply, “Yessssssssssssssss!!!”
Menu Of Other DQ Fall Blizzards Has Been Leaked
Initially, fans were concerned that the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard would inexplicably not be coming back this autumn when Dairy Queen's fall Blizzard menu leaked to the public, which didn't include the longtime favorite. However, it seems like the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard was such a given, they hadn't thought of including it with the other limited-time offerings on menus this season.
Other fall Blizzards to look forward to are Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough (which will be September's Blizzard of the Month, along with Pumpkin Pie), Oreo Hot Cocoa, Caramel Fudge Cheesecake, Choco-Dipped Strawberry, Reese's Peanut Buttert Cup Pie, and the new Royal Reese's Fluffernutter.
