Daisy Edgar-Jones Sparkles In A Sheer Slip Dress Beside Paul Mescal At The GQ Men Of The Year Awards
November 23, 2022 by Marissa Matozzo
Daisy Edgar-Jones undeniably stole the spotlight at the GQ annual Men of the Year Awards this week in a glistening, chevron sequin slip dress. The Where the Crawdads Sing actress, 24, shined in the sultry, low-cut, waist-cinched, sparkle-adorned piece as she graced the red carpet at London’s Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel.
Edgar-Jones’ dress is from Gucci’s Resort 2023, and she showed off her long, toned legs with the help of its mesh, maxi overlay skirt. The star looked excited to reunite with her Normal People co-star Paul Mescal at the event, 26, who looked dapper at the soirée in a Valentino suit.
The Fresh alum gave major head-to-toe 1920s/ Art Deco vibes with her ensemble, as her frock’s glittery zig-zag stripes, her black heels and haircut all emulated classic flapper girl with modern touches. Edgar-Jones paired black open-toe sandal heels with her dress, and went for minimal accessories— simply choosing shiny diamond earrings and a singular ring to dazzle up her look.

She was also later spotted that night with a black-and-gold Gucci purse slung over her shoulder. Edgar-Jones wore her brunette tresses in an elegant, middle-parted, timeless bob with face-framing pieces that drew eyes to her makeup look. Edgar-Jones added black liner, subtle mascara, rosy blush on her cheekbones and a glossy pink lip to top it all off.
After tugging at our heart strings during 2020 quarantine in the romantic Hulu series Normal People, Edgar-Jones and Mescal continue to charm fans with their sweet IRL moments as friends, too! The actors both attended the GQ Awards event, and the actress also revealed on Instagram last week that she and Mescal dressed up as the titular character and the ‘Hot Priest’ from BBC’s Fleabag, sending the internet into a frenzy:
The two have hung out quite often this year, from being spotted at a Phoebe Bridgers concert in London (fitting since Mescal is dating the indie singer), taking pics at the Met Gala together, and most recently, looking chic in Old Hollywood-esque get-ups at a Gucci party:
Can we somehow get a Normal People season 2 please? Or another project starring these two? Asking for a friend…
