Meghan Markle 'Snubs' David Beckham
In the new bombshell book House of Beckham, author Tom Bower gets into the nitty gritty details about why David Beckham and Prince Harry are no longer friends. Back in 2018, David Beckham took a 22-hour flight to Sydney, Australia, to attend the Invictus Games at Prince Harry's request, only to be "snubbed" by the former royal.
"Beckham found himself alone at the Invictus Games Stadium, Bower wrote. "Arriving on the agreed day to meet Prince Harry he was perplexed why officials were playing a dance to keep him happy, but away from Prince Harry." Apparently, "the prince had ordered that under no circumstances was the footballer to be allowed near him."
But it wasn't the Prince behind this order. "The exclusion order, it later transpired, was issued by Meghan. She didn't want any competition in the media from Beckham, and especially not from his wife, Victoria." Unsurprisingly, this harsh move came from a place of jealousy: Meghan was not as famous or wealthy as Posh Spice, and she desperately wanted to be.
David Beckham Gets His Revenge
So, despite being invited to their wedding, David and Victoria Beckham made the executive decision not to invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to their son Brooklyn's wedding, but did in fact extend the invite to Prince William and Kate Middleton, whom they had always been closer to.
"David's attachment and history go back with William and Kate and they have a very strong relationship and they were their choice of wedding guests." Bower wrote. "It was always about them, it was never about Meghan and Harry. They are the people David and Victoria are attached to and it’s always been about them because they’ve had a long history together."
A slap in the face to Meghan, one that Prince Harry is feeling the pain for, having not only lost a relationship with his entire family by leaving the royal life and moving halfway across the world to California, but now also losing a longtime friend.
