David Beckham Sues Mark Wahlberg's Fitness Company, F45
It all started back in 2019, when Mark Wahlberg bought a 36% stake in F45, a fitness company that offers intense, 45-minute high intensity workouts, with studios all over the globe. In 2020, David Beckham entered into a 5-year contract with the company, speaking very highly about the benefits of training with F45 and posting about it on his social media accounts.
The following year, F45 went public as a company, and this is where things started going south. Beckham claims he held up his end of the deal, but didn't receive the agreed upon payment. According to his legal team, F45 failed to transfer his share of stock in a timely manner, and that there are $5M worth of additional shares that he never received. He says the delay in transferring the initial shares cost him $9.3M, because the stock price dropped.
Now, Beckham is suing F45 for a total of $18.8M for breach of contract. While the lawsuit was initially filed in 2022, it now has a court date set, after being moved to California's federal court in 2023. The former friends will have their showdown in court on January 25, 2025. Maybe Brad and Angelina will settle all their various lawsuits by then...
