Dax Shepard Talks About His Past
Though Dax and Kristen have been together for a long time—they tied the knot in 2013 but have been dating since 2007—Dax had quite the rap sheet before they got together. "I had been in an open relationship for nine years," Dax explained. "I was blacked out a big chunk of my life. You know, there were a lot of things for her to be concerned about."
He continued, explaining that while Bell is "incredibly confident, there was a ton of jealousy at the beginning of the relationship" due to his past actions.
Bell, agreed, adding, "In the beginning it was nerve-wracking dating Dax knowing his history of recovery and he's just this big force, but I was like, no, he's got it inside of him. He's got all this goodness. And I have been proven right!"
Dax & Kristen Are Happily Married
Thankfully, the pair stuck things out, and have been happily married for quite some time. "I'd say once we got engaged," Shepard explained, "some kind of switch for me seemed to change. And I find her to be incredibly not jealous, which is an incredibly hot characteristic in a partner."
Bell also had nothing but wonderful things to say about her partner. Referencing their two daughters, Lincoln, 8, and Delta, 6. "No one is as affectionate—I'm not even as affectionate—with our girls as he is."
In the past, the Good Place actress has not been shy about gushing over her husband. "He's addicted to evolving," she once said on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "He was like, 'I don't want to risk this family and I did, so let's put new things in place to make sure it doesn't happen again,' and we're going back to therapy. And I will continue to stand by him because he is very, very worth it."
