Demi Lovato is one strong warrior and she has permanently switched up her look to prove it. The 27-year-old singer recently showed off her new ink on her tattoo artist Doctor Woo’s Instagram.
“On a real one” Dr. Woo captioned the Dec. 16 Instagram post that shows Lovato’s new neck tattoo, which is the word “survivor” in simplistic cursive font.
Photographer Angelo Kritikos also showcased the “Tell Me You Love Me” singer’s latest body art in a sultry photo shoot. Kritikos shared a series of photos from the shoot to his Instagram profile. Lovato is photographed wearing a simple black lace bra and plain black jacket, allowing her to draw more attention to her new survivor tattoo. Lovato’s longtime rose tattoo also stunningly appears on her forearm in the photos.
The survivor tattoo is a tribute to the tumultuous few years Lovato has had since her overdose in July 2018. One thing’s for sure, Lovato has come back stronger than ever since that scary summer day.
As reported by ET, Lovato shared her optimistic outlook on her future in November during her first major interview since her overdose. Lovato was speaking at the Teen Vogue Summit in Los Angeles, California when she opened up.
“What I see in the mirror [is] someone that’s overcome a lot. I’ve been through a lot and I genuinely see a fighter,” Lovato shared at the Summit. “I don’t see a championship winner, but I see a fighter and someone who is going to continue to fight no matter what is thrown in their way...I love the person that I am today.”
Lovato sure has a lot of amazing things ahead of her in the near future. The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer took to Instagram on December 4 to share some big news with her diehard fans. Lovato simply captioned a blackout post with “The next time you hear from me, I’ll be singing.” How exciting is that?! We can hardly wait for new music from her!
