It’s also an opportunity to start your day off in the most healthy way possible, with foods that can detox your system, provide plenty of protein to fuel you until lunchtime, and boost your metabolism so that you burn more fat throughout the day.

If you’ve ever wondered what your favorite celebrities are eating first thing in the morning to stay on top of their fitness and health goals, wonder no more. Here are five detox foods celebs swear by to speed up their metabolism in the morning.

Jennifer Aniston -- Protein Smoothies With Almond Milk

In an interview with Bon Appetit, Jennifer Aniston revealed that she has three favorite breakfasts: eggs, oatmeal, or one that's perfect for those of us who are always pressed for time: a protein smoothie.

"Sometimes it's a smoothie—bananas, cherries, a protein powder of some sort, almonds, cacao powder, and all sorts of other weird antioxidant stuff I can't remember—with almond milk," Aniston said. 

For incredible detox benefits, toss a handful of blueberries into the blender with tart cherries and you'll help defend your body against free radicals that damage cells. 

Khloé Kardashian -- Steel-Cut Oatmeal

Khloé Kardashian has worked really hard to achieve her strong physique, and that effort includes daily workouts at around 6 am. To refuel her body after exercise, Kardashian reveals in her book Strong Looks Better Naked that she likes to whip up smoothies and oatmeal — specifically, a mix of steel-cut oats, flaxseed powder, and water or almond milk. 

Chrissy Teigen -- Eggs And Avocado

Model, TV host, and cook extraordinaire Chrissy Teigen told Bon Appetit that she and husband John Legend enjoy the same protein and healthy fat-rich breakfast each and every morning. 

"I always do two eggs over easy with turkey bacon--we enjoy the taste of it more than pork--and avocado," Teigen told the publication. "I carve it all up into a bowl so it's like a slop, and I load it with salt and pepper and Cholula."

Padma Lakshmi -- Earl Grey Tea

As the host of Top Chef, Padma Lakshmi knows good food. But, she also knows how to kickstart her metabolism in the morning with a cup of tea before digging into a plate of protein like eggs, whole grains, and fruit. Her tea of choice? Earl Grey with French vanilla and French lavender. 

"Two cups of that are worth more than a cup of coffee," Lakshmi told Bon Appetit. "So I have that with milk and honey, and usually one boiled egg, one piece of sourdough toast, and one grapefruit."

Jessica Alba -- Matcha Green Tea Smoothies 

With three young children and a thriving business as the CEO of the Honest Company, when Jessica Alba provides a few good breakfast tips that rev up your metabolism, we all listen. 

And one of Alba's favorites, according to an interview with SELF, is a smoothie made from antioxidant matcha green tea powder, a banana, vanilla protein powder, and ice. 

According to studies, the EGCG in matcha green tea is three times higher than regular green tea, making it a better option to help boost your metabolism and aid in faster weight loss.
