Weight Loss-Friendly McDonald’s Order According To Dietitian
Hailey first points out that you must let go of the ‘rigid mindset’ and do the best with the cards you are dealt with when it comes to your weight loss journey.
“We’re going to start with a produce and a protein. Focusing on [these] make it a lot easier to adhere to your calorie deficit,” she says.
This will not only help you make more nutritious decisions but also help set up the tone for the rest of your day when it comes to eating.
She chooses a double cheeseburger as her protein (450 cal. and 25g of protein). Besides the pickles and onions, she adds apples (15 cal.) to her order for extra fiber and produce. These two orders still kept her under 500 calories which she says is “great” for individuals on a weight loss diet!
Opting for protein-rich selections, such as a lean beef patty, provides a satisfying and filling foundation for your meal. Pairing this with a side of fresh produce, like veggies in the burger or apple slices, adds essential vitamins and fiber to support digestion and promote a sense of fullness. By incorporating protein, produce, and fiber into your McDonald’s order, you can make mindful selections that align with weight loss goals while still enjoying the convenience of fast food.
However, it’s important to opt for fast food meals once in a while and stick to making such meals at home that don’t contain extra additives and may be lower in calories. Moderation is key!
