Costco vs. Trader Joe's: Kimbap

The Trader Joe's kimbap is a legendary product. Their website describes it as "a mega-sized maki sushi roll," filled with "an assortment of sauteed greens, crunchy root vegetables, and crisp pickles around a base of braised tofu." Fans have described it as "authentic" and "so delicious," saying that "it's a staple," and they "always have at least one in the freezer." But now, the Trader Joe's kimbap has a rival.

Costco just started selling their version of frozen kimbap, and it's already making a great impression with fans. Obviously, because it's Costco, it's sold in bulk, so actually comes in a bag containing 6 kimbap packages, which comes out to about $3.13 per package. The Costco version features a similar recipe: seaweed, rice, fried tofu, carrot, pickled radish, and burdock.

Superfans Debate Trader Joe's vs. Costco Kimbap

User @Costcoaisles on Instagram posted a video letting their fans know of the newest freezer section addition to the Costco warehouses, and it's garnered quite few comments from fans debating whether the Costco version or Trader Joe's version is superior. "They're so much better than Trader Joe's," one user commented.

"I'm a Trader Joe's girlie till I die," one user wrote. "But I WILL be giving this Costco version a try."

"I heard it's better than Trader Joe's," another person said. "Gotta look for it."

"I can never find it in Trader Joe's—it's always sold out!" another user added. "Maybe I'll be able to find the Costco version..."

"I've tried both and my loyalty lies with Trader Joe's," another comment reads. Looks like you'll have to get your hands on both and see for yourself!
