As much as we all love to midnight snack, it's detrimental to your tummy weight loss goals. According to Mark Hyman, MD, you should stop eating three hours before you hit the hay. "Your metabolism slows down when you sleep so you shift from fat burning to fat storage," he says.
While you shouldn't midnight snack, you definitely should munch on snacks throughout the day. According to Tasneem Bhatia, MD, eating more often helps speed up your metabolism and give you more energy. She recommends sticking to three meals and two snacks per day for the ultimate weight loss food regimen.
You've heard this a million times, but eating breakfast is one of the best flat-belly tips. Dr. Bhatia says that skipping the most important meal of the day means you'll be hungrier later on, which can cause overreating.
Even though it's not a diet tip, you absolutely need exercise to get a flat stomach. Live Strong advises spending 150 minutes exercising to lose weight.
