On June 11th, Hunter Biden was found guilty of a crime that he committed six years ago: lying about his use of illegal drugs when applying to purchase a gun, and owning a gun while using illegal drugs. He then unlawfully possessed the firearm for 11 days.

Hunter hasn't been sentenced to anything yet, but the maximum punishment would be up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000. However, given it is his first offense, he will likely receive way less than the maximum. In the way of statements, Hunter said after the trial ended that he was "disappointed by the outcome," but remains "more than grateful for the love and support of his family."

In response to the conviction, Joe Biden said in a statement, "I am the President, but I am also a Dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today."

Donald Trump Accuses Joe Biden Of Embezzling Money

While this news story made headlines—not quite as big as Donald Trump's conviction of 34 felony charges, but still big—Donald Trump and his team waved it off. "This trial has been nothing more than a distraction from the real crimes of the Biden Crime Family, which has raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia, and Ukraine," Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement."

"Crooked Joe Biden's reign over the Biden Family Criminal Empire is all coming to an end on November 5th, and never again will a Biden sell government access for personal profit," she added.

Trump and his team have repeatedly accused President Biden of profiting off of his son's business dealings, though there has been no concrete evidence to support that claim, nor has Trump or his team cared to elaborate on what exactly they're talking about, leading skeptics to believe that they are doing exactly what they're claiming Biden is doing, distracting the public from Trump's recent felony charges.
