Donald Trump Calls Joe Biden ‘Grossly Incompetent’ In Megyn Kelly Interview: He’s ‘Not Smart Enough’ To Indict Me

Donald Trump recently sat down for an interview with former foe Megyn Kelly for a wide-ranging interview to address the issues the former president faces in his bid for 2024 re-election—and during the mostly-cordial chat, Trump addressed his thoughts on current President Biden’s competency for office, saying in no uncertain terms that Biden is “grossly incompetent” and should not run again in 2024.
The interview, after which Trump publicly called Kelly “pretty nasty,” discussed topics as varied as the 2024 presidential campaign, his indictments, whether he planned on debating any of the other Republican candidates, and the private nature of his immediate family, especially wife Melania and son Barron.
Megyn Kelly invited former president Donald Trump on her Sirius XM show, The Megyn Kelly Show, as an apparent show of good faith after their public squabbles around the time of the pre-2016 election presidential debates. Kelly, as moderator for the first Republican primary debate in August 2015, asked Trump a question about his treatment of women, prompting a back-and-forth that would eventually spur Trump to take to Twitter and say that “You can see there was blood coming out of [Megyn’s] eyes, blood coming out of her wherever,” a remark many felt was disrespectful and sexist toward the then-Fox star. The former Apprentice host then boycotted a later Fox debate telecast because Kelly was one of the moderators.
However, after Kelly stated this summer that “All that nonsense between [myself and Trump] is under the bridge,” it seemed inevitable that he would appear on her highly-charting interview show. Megyn asked a wide range of questions of the former president, including why he didn’t remove Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci from his job during his presidency and why he didn’t end birthright citizenship during the same span.
Importantly, she addressed his several indictments, including his handling of classified documents after leaving the White House, the subject of one of his legal issues. When pressed on why federal agents found more classified materials after Trump lawyers swore that they’d turned over all relevant files, the former president hedged: “I don’t know what the timing is. Again, I’d have to check,” Trump responded. “I just don’t know the timing. All I know is, I’m allowed to have those documents.”
His main claim regarding his legal fracas was that it was worth facing the multiple indictments to “Make America Great Again,” because the legal issues were a result of the “country’s going to hell”—a situation which he feels only he can fix.
