Just as Ivanka Trump, 41, recently announced that she would be taking a step back from politics and has distanced herself from her father, another member of the Trump family seems to also be distancing themselves from the former president. And this time, it’s Trump’s wife, Melania Trump!

Melania Trump, 53, was noticeably absent at her husband’s indictment back in April, but that wasn’t the only time they weren’t together. According to reports, the 76-year-old twice-impeached former president and the former First Lady barely spend any time together these days, and essentially live very separate lives. But while that might not fly with some wives, Melania apparently doesn’t seem to mind keeping her distance from her husband, who is also the father to her 17-year-old son, Barron Trump.

Donald Trump And Melania Trump Are Living 'Separate Lives'

"The former president and Melania have a very unique arrangement," an insider spilled to Ok! "They live separate lives that rarely intersect and have done so for some time. Donald is content to host elaborate dinners for Republican officials and pursue his political career and agenda, and Melania has absolutely no interest in participating."

"She rarely appears at his events and lives apart from him at the club," the insider continued. The pub previously commented on the fact that Melania skipped her husband's indictment back in April, with an insider saying: "She mostly keeps to herself and stays out of Donald’s way as long as he stays out of hers. It works for both of them."

Melania Trump Skipped Trump's Indictment In April

This of course doesn’t mean that Melania wasn’t deeply affected by what has been going on with her husband over the past few months, including the indictment, the sexual abuse lawsuit filed against him by E. Jean Carroll, and the cheating allegations.

Back in April, Donald Trump flew from his home in Florida to New York after being indicted for criminal charges related to hush money payments paid out during his presidential campaign in 2016. (He pleaded not guilty to 34 felony charges, which is just the beginning of a long legal process to unfold.) Yet on his flight to New York, Melania Trump was not named as part of the group on the flight, as reported by the New York Times.

Trump was accompanied instead by his son Eric Trump, campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung, communications aide Jason Miller, former White House aide Dan Scavino, and Boris Epshteyn, a lawyer involved with the legal efforts to overturn 2020 results, as reported by The Independent.

A source told Radar back in April that "Melania is beyond humiliated," in reference to Trump's April 4th indictment. "I hear she begged Donald to forsake his political ambitions and fade into private life after the 2020 election fiasco but he wouldn’t do that, and she sees this as the consequences, sinking their already troubled marriage to an all-time low."

"The truth is Melania never had any aspirations to be First Lady and was disgusted by the allegations about Donald's cheating even though he denied it then – and still does," the source told Radar regarding their deteriorating relationship. "Melania never wanted to move to D.C. and it's been a source of conflict and resentment in their marriage ever since." The source went on to say that Melania is doing the bare minimum when it comes to public appearances, saying: "She's tired of pretending she and Donald are anything more than parties to a political and financial arrangement."

Melania And Donald Trump's Paths 'Barely Cross'

Insiders told The Mirror back in April that while Donald and Melania still live together in Mar-a-Lago, they lead completely separate lives. Considering they live in a 128-room mansion on 20 acres, this does seem plausible to pull off. "Their paths barely cross," one insider told The Mirror. "Melania is no different from any woman. Having her husband accused of cheating on her not just once but twice is extremely disturbing."

The source admitted that Trump might not just be spending time in the criminal courts, but could also be spending time at the divorce courts in the not-so-distant future. "There is little wonder people believe it's not just the criminal court Trump is heading to but possibly a divorce one too," they reported.

Since departing her position as First Lady, Melania Trump has stayed out of the limelight. She has not commented on political issues or her husband's recent criminal charges. Fans and insiders are speculating about her plans, which as noted may include divorcing the former president. However, we still have not heard a word from the former Slovenian model herself, so right now the claims are just hearsay. Though considering all the legal troubles Trump is facing, including a major cheating scandal, that's not to say there's no merit to them.
