Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, appear to still be living in the past, back when their mere presence earned them a standing ovation. The Trumps arrived to Mar-A-Lago, Donald’s member’s only club in Florida, and as they made their way into the group, they had everyone present stand and clap as they processed inside. Now, users on X, formerly Twitter, are slamming the pair as “super cringe” and “two weirdos” for their behavior. Keep reading for more information.

Donald Trump & Melania Trump's Grand Entrance

The awkward moment happened at the start of the Easter gathering the former First Lady hosted at Mar-A-Lago. As she, Donald Trump, their son, Barron Trump, and Melania's father, Viktor Knavs, make their way into the gathering, everyone present stands and claps, watching them walk in, smiling and waving.

Social media users have branded the entire interaction as "super cringe," while experts dive even deeper into what it really means. "When people view an individual being perpetually applauded, it shows that they are commanding the respect of those who are present. Regardless of one's political affiliation, I think many would agree that Trump is very good at self-branding," PR expert Mark Goldman said.

"Trump has a burning need to demonstrate clear and total control," he continued. "He's reinforcing the hierarchy that he's the top alpha male in the room and hell bent to win back the most powerful job in the world," he said, speaking of Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

Trumps Branded As 'Super Cringe' On Twitter

Twitter as had a field day with the awkward behavior, with different users posting their thoughts on the Trumps' grand entrance. "Donald Trump lives his days as if he was still on the apprentice," one user wrote. "They say that his days are scripted, right down to his grand entrance."

"It's all a Hollywood reality show," another user agreed.

"I'm going to start lining up friends in my living room to applaud me making my way to the fridge," another user joked.

"It's just such weird behavior," another person said. "I seriously can't imagine acting like this."

"It's a cult," a final user wrote. "That's exactly what it is."
